Youth Retreat Programs (top)

Trailblazer Weekends

A programmed weekend event, Friday evening through Sunday noon, for middle school youth groups (Grades 6-8) and their adult leaders. The program is led by the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries professional staff and college-aged members of the summer camp staff. Offered 3 times each fall, Trailblazer Weekends bring middle school-aged youth together for fun and Christian growth through learning and fellowship. Cost is $70 per person. Flyer

Lutherwald Sr. High Ski Weekends

The weekend kicks off with a Friday night get-together at the Kempski Retreat Center. After an early Saturday morning breakfast, the group leaves for the short drive to Swiss Valley Ski Area at Jones, Michigan and a full day on the slopes. Swiss Valley has eleven runs, two quad chairlifts, one triple and four rope tows. Ski rentals available. Saturday evening includes a stop for dinner and back to Lutherwald for a relaxing evening around the fire. The weekend concludes with breakfast and Sunday morning worship. Flyer

Middle School Toboggan Retreat at Lake Luther

A Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning retreat for middle schoolers and their adult sponsors. Cost is $20 per person which includes two meals (Saturday dinner & Sunday breakfast), snack, and Saturday night housing (tobogganing is extra--see below). The retreat is hosted by Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Director, Pastor Mark Radloff. Tobogganing takes place at Pokagon State Park (5 miles from Lake Luther) on a 1,780' refrigerated twin track (no snow is needed for it to operate). Cost is $5 per vehicle for entrance into the park and toboggan rental is $10 an hour (4 people per toboggan). Flyer

Youth Ministry Leadership Opportunities (top)

IT WORKS! -- Youth Ministry Leaders Workshop

A Saturday experiential learning workshop where participants add practical & useable ideas to their personal "bag of tricks," including creative Bible studies, indoor and outdoor games, initiative games, and mixers/icebreakers. Participants will "learn by doing" from professionals on the "cutting edge" of youth ministry today. Contact us for complete schedule and registration information.

Family Weekends

These Friday evening through Sunday morning programs provide structured activities for the whole family, including: Bible study, arts & crafts, games for children, workshops, campfire programs, swimming, boating, fishing, and more. Families can reserve a cabin for themselves, share one with friends, or provide their own tent or RV.
