"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes has eternal life. This person has crossed over from death to life." John 5:21

Mission Statement

Lutheran Outdoor Ministries-Indiana/Kentucky strives ”to witness to the Lordship of Jesus Christ” and provides an extraordinary Christian community at its camps— Lutheran Hills, Lutherwald and Lake Luther—where every camper learns of God’s love for them and gains new life experiences in a fun environment with caring leaders.

The policy of LOM-IK and its camps--Lutherwald, Lutheran Hills and Lake Luther--is that no child will be turned away from a camp experience due to the lack of the ability to pay. Contact LOM-IK Director Mark Radloff (260) 667-7750 for assistance.

A Message from LOM-IK Director Mark Radloff ...

Don't be afraid, God is pleased with you.

Do you recognize this quote? Do you believe the words? The words are spoken by the Angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary. The angel breaks into the life of a scared teenager to comfort and assure her.

All of us need to hear these words. The messages we hear on a daily basis are often scary and don't reassure us that anyone is pleased with us.

As I talk to teenagers today, I know they feel there is plenty to be afraid of. I also know that they desire to know, more than anything, that someone is pleased with them. Too often teens hear how bad they are, how disappointing they are, how they don't measure up to expectations.

At Lutheran Hills, Lutherwald and Lake Luther, we proclaim, like Gabriel, that you don't need to be afraid and that God is pleased with you. Teens hear this message over and over again from college-aged counselors who care for them, love them, and become their "angels."

Lutheran Hills, Lutherwald and Lake Luther are places where kids learn they don't have to live in fear, that they have a God that loves them, and that they are pleasing in the sight of the Lord.

I am thankful that our camps are committed to share this message of hope and Good News to today's kids who so desperately need to hear it. Thanks be to God!
