Leadership Training School
Leadership
Training School (LTS) is a program conducted by pastors and
youth ministry leaders of the ELCA Indiana-Kentcucky Synod for
high school youth entering grades 10-11-12. The goal of LTS
is to equip and give encouragement to young people through small
group learning and sharing.
The fundamental,
underlying vision of Leadership Training School is that youth
are not the church of tomorrow, but an integral part of the
church today and that God has endowed them with gifts of leadership.
LTS will
provide youth to explore foundational Christian theology, basic
leadership skills, experience trust building, and develop confidence
for serving as leaders. All this occurs within a worshipping
community of faith where youth can grow spiritually and realize
their potential as children of God gifted with talents and blessings.
Congregations
are asked to nominate and sponsor those young people who have
demonstrated leadership in church, school, and community. Registration
materials are sent directly to congregations in March.
